Common mistakes
From: P3265-LVE manual, pp. 5, 28
- Q-series PTZ cameras such as the AXIS Q6135-LE use two buttons: press and hold the control button and the power button, release the power button, keep holding the control button for 15–30 seconds, then release it. With no DHCP server the default IP address is 192.168.0.90.
Source: Q6135-LE manual · p. 23 - You can still log in but want a clean start: skip the button and use the web interface, Maintenance > Factory default, then Default.
Source: M3085-V / M3086-V manual · p. 26 - The camera doesn't show up after the reset: with AXIS OS 12.0 and later and no DHCP server it takes a link-local address in 169.254.0.0/16, so search with AXIS IP Utility or AXIS Device Manager from a computer on the same network.
- Taking full control after a suspected tamper: reset to factory default settings, then configure and install the device again. Secure boot guarantees the state of the device after the reset.
