Quick answer

Wire the Resideo VISTA-20P sounder to terminals 3 (+) and 4 (–), and place the 820 ohm resistor at the last sounder when bell supervision is used.

Steps

From: VISTA-20P/15P Security Systems install guide, p. 10

  1. Connect the sounder to alarm output terminals 3 (+) and 4 (–)
  2. If bell supervision is not used, connect the supplied 820 ohm resistor across terminals 3 and 4
  3. If bell supervision is used, connect the 820 ohm EOL across the last sounder, not across the panel alarm terminals
  4. Set ∗91 option 1 for bell supervision
  5. Install the battery; the battery supplies the sounder current

Specs & limits

From: VISTA-20P/15P Security Systems install guide, p. 10

NoteAlarm output is 10.5–13.8 VDC, 2 A max; over 2 A can overload the supply or trip the sounder circuit.
NoteAlarm output plus aux power combined cannot exceed 600 mA.
NoteThe sounder must be rated 10.5–13.8 VDC and mounted indoors.
NoteUL installs need UL Listed sounding devices; bell supervision is required for fire.
NoteOn a high-impedance sounder such as the 745X3, install the 820 ohm resistor at the device.
NoteFire is a temporal pulsed ring (3 pulses, pause, repeat); burglary/audible emergency is a steady ring.
